Never touched tiles before? No problem. Need a wholesale refresher? Start here.
In this introductory session, you'll meet the tiles, learn the game setup, explore a beginner-friendly introduction to the Charleston, and play your first Mahjong game. The goal isn't perfection. It isn't winning. It isn't even remembering all of what’s covered, at the end of the session. The goal is understanding the general mechanics and flow of this complex and challenging game. Mahjong 101 (or a comparable introductory course taken elsewhere) is a prerequisite to our Mahjong 102 and/or Mahjong 103 learning events, which continue to grow foundational knowledge and build skills and confidence through guided gameplay.
Space is limited and advance registration is required.

Frequency Wine Company's wines and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the event.
